BLACKFOOT, Idaho (KIFI) — Emergency crews are on the scene of a crash involving two semi-trucks on southbound Interstate 15 that sent one driver to the hospital Thursday morning.
The crash happened sometime before 8:30 a.m. near the Blackfoot Rest Area (mile marker 101), blocking the southbound right lane.
Lt. Todd Orr with the Idaho State Police confirmed that emergency responders transported at least one driver to the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. The extent of the driver’s injuries is currently unknown, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
The Idaho Transportation Department is directing drivers to use caution while traveling through the area.
