Planned Parenthood sues Labrador over his interpretation of Idaho’s abortion ban that “an Idaho health care professional who refers a woman across state lines has given support or aid to the woman in performing or attempting to perform an abortion and has thus violated the statute.” In the lawsuit, Idaho physicians and Planned Parenthood Great Northwest, Hawai’i, Indiana, Kentucky (PPGNHAIK)claims Labrador’s construction of the law would violate a provider’s free speech by prosecuting those who refer patients for abortions across state lines. District Judge B. Lynn Winmill granted a stay on the enforcement of the law.
