Ninety percent of the House of Representatives support backing Israel, but members of “the squad” protest. Rep. Rashida Tlaib would not say that she condemns Hamas’ tactics of beheading babies when a reporter asked her the question. However, Rep. Ilhan Omar wrote she wrote on X that, “I condemn the horrific acts we are seeing unfold today in Israel against children, women, the elderly, and the unarmed people who are being slaughtered and taken hostage by Hamas” and called for a cease fire.

Some libraries tout displays of “banned books”, which is oxymoronic, because if they were banned such displays would be illegal.

The House Republicans are holding private votes to build consensus behind a single candidate for House Speaker.

Correction: A previous version of this post incorrectly named another member of Congress as the Representative who would not say that she condemns Hamas’ beheading of babies.
