As part of the $1 trillion infrastructure package that President Joe Biden is expected to sign soon, there is a mandate that requires auto makers to include new technology that must “passively monitor the performance of a driver of a motor vehicle to accurately identify whether that driver may be impaired and prevent or limit motor vehicle operation.” Proponents of the mandate say that this doesn’t qualify as a kill switch. Rep. Thomas Massie is trying to defund the mandate.
