(SALT LAKE CITY) – The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced the specific sites for two new temples previously announced for Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and Calabar, Nigeria. The church also released exterior renderings showing the planned architectural designs for both structures, which serve as sacred places of worship for members.

The Coeur d’Alene Idaho Temple will be built on a 10.9-acre property at the corner of Hanley Avenue and Coeur Terre Boulevard. Plans for the site include a single-story temple of approximately 29,630 square feet, as well as a new meetinghouse and an additional ancillary building. The state of Idaho is home to more than 480,000 church members. The new temple was first announced in October 2023.

In Nigeria, the Calabar Temple will be constructed on a 7-acre site along Atekong Drive in Calabar, the capital of Cross River State. The planned 26,000-square-foot, single-story temple will be accompanied by patron housing, arrival facilities, and a meetinghouse. This temple will be the seventh announced for Nigeria, which has over 250,000 Latter-day Saints. The country currently has one operating temple in Aba, with two more under construction in Lagos and Benin City.
