INTERVIEW: Stephanie Gifford on sexually explicit material in schools by Heather Sampson | Mar 9, 2022 | Local-Regional News March 8, 2022–(STATEWIDE)–Stephanie Gifford works with an international watchdog organization to reign in the hyper-sexualization of children. Neal and Julie spoke with her about Idaho House Bill 666, which would hold librarians accountable for sexually explicit material that is harmful to minors if found in school libraries or the youth section of public libraries. The definition of sexually explicit material harmful to minors is already established in Idaho Code 18.15.14. Gifford says House Bill 666 would hold public and school libraries to the same standards of distribution of such material to minors as the rest of society.
