INTERVIEW: Sen. Mike Crapo Discusses SCJ Nominee Saule Omarova, National Defense Bill, and Efforts to Stop Vaccine Mandates by Heather Sampson | Dec 1, 2021 | Local-Regional News December 1,2021–(STATEWIDE)–Neal and Julie interview Senator Mike Crapo about Supreme Court Justice nominee from Russia, Saule Omarova. They ask if the final national defense bill will include women having to register for the military draft, and if the national budget will be passed by Christmas. Neal brings up the vaccine mandate injunction by Judge Terry Doughty’s of the U.S. District Court of the Western District of Louisiana. The injunction against healthcare mandates extends the 10 state stay on mandates to cover healthcare institutions across the entire country. Sen. Crapo says that he and Sen. Risch are both in support of legislation to ban national vaccine mandates and as well as other measures to push back against mandates. Crapo cautions that all actions by the legislature still face a possible presidential veto, and also that individual company policies may not change due to the stay.
