Heather Sampson interviews Alex Purcell of Idaho Falls Rotary Club about the Teen Film Festival they are sponsoring. Purcell says the Rotary Club is a service organization “that focuses on education.” He said the festival will “provide visual story tellers from all over the state a chance to showcase their work” and build their portfolio. There is a contest with prizes and a red-carpet event for participants. Experienced film professionals are also involved with putting on a workshop for participants. There are seven different categories of short films. Film submissions are open from March 18 to April 13. The public is invited to the Film Festival showing at Hillcrest Highschool Saturday, May 3. Past participants have gone on to work for Lucas Film and Marvel Studios, as well as television shows. See Idahoteenfilmfestival.org for submissions and information.
