Nov. 16 2021-(BLAKCFOOT)-Neal interviews Mayor Marc Carroll of Blackfoot about his first term and why he is running a second term. Mayor Carroll talks about his achievements include balancing the budget and creating a financial reserve as well as addressing city infrastructure needs. Carroll feels he has hit his stride now and talks about his goals for a second term, including commercial growth and annexation to equalize the average tax base. Mayor Carroll does not plan on making any mask mandates, but recommended masks, social distancing, and courtesy regarding other’s wishes.
UPDATE: Blackfoot mayoral challenger, Craig Stuart declined an interview.
UPDATE Nov. 29: Ron Ramirez, who was the third candidate in the original 2021 Blackfoot Mayoral race said in an email to NewsTalk that “I have since been reviewing the issues and communicating with the candidates and have decided that Marc Carroll is the stronger and best candidate to be the mayor of Blackfoot” and he wanted to get the word out.
