IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) – The Disabilities Services office at Idaho State University hosted their first ever Summer Expo at the Idaho Falls campus. Many local vendors participated to connect with the community and attendees could win donated raffle prizes.
“We have had amazing support from our community, vendors, businesses, just the outpouring of support,” said Karina Mason Rorris, director of disabilities services. “We were able to put together about 12 different raffle baskets.”
The event also featured food trucks, basketball, axe throwing, cornhole and face painting. Organizers said the main purpose was to bring people to the Idaho Falls campus and support the program. All proceeds from the raffle go back into the services provided for ISU students.
“By coming to these events, we can rub shoulders with other people here, other business owners, plus the community to help further our business,” said local business owner Jake Johnson of Veteran’s Plumbing. “We’ve started to do a lot of these opportunities and been able to connect with the community more.”
