Locally filmed dark fantasy movie ‘Tales of Ardenmore’ set to premiere in Idaho Falls

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI)– A medieval fantasy film written and directed by an Idaho Falls resident is preparing to make its big-screen debut in Idaho Falls, featuring local actors and crew members.

‘Tales of Ardenmore’ is a dark fantasy independent film by local filmmaker Lance B. Witmer and was filmed entirely in and around Idaho Falls.

“I would say the, the rugged, natural beauty of the region, combined with the fact that I had some family here and, obviously I have a few medieval toys that I brought along and, so then the combination [the] sweet epic locations… I’ve got some medieval kit. Let’s make it happen,” Witmer said.

Witmer says the movie was shot in local areas like Freeman Park, Heise and The Haunted River in Menan.

The production brought together several Hollywood actors, Pocatello native Hondo Hendricks and southeast Idaho residents who worked as actors, extras and crew members.

“The team of actors, the local actors and film crew, we want to make Southeast Idaho a place where we can make medieval fantasy and sci fi films, not as like a fluke thing, but as a recurring thing, as a consistent thing,” Witmer said.

The film will be shown at the Paramount Triplex Theatre on Friday, Oct. 30, and will have additional screenings from Oct. 31-Nov. 4.
